Leipzig-Halle Logistics Network

The Leipzig-Halle Logistics Network founded in 2008 was set up by specialists working in the field of logistics in the region. Around 20 representatives from the logistics field in the Leipzig and Halle area had set themselves the goal of forming an association to promote the common interests of the region and the regional economy. The network quickly grew from 57 members in the first year to a current membership of 97 members.

Apart from logistics service providers, the cooperation network also brings together companies providing logistics-related services and HR services, associations, public administration, chambers of commerce as well as research and educational institutes. The Leipzig-Halle Logistics Network has its business premises at the Leipzig/Halle airport. Attendance at trade fairs such as EXPO REAL, the Transport Logistic at Munich, the TransRussia in Moscow or the Transport Logistic China in Shanghai in 2009, 2010 and 2011 quickly led to a greater awareness of the network by the public on a regional, national and international level.

In order to reinforce the role played by the Leipzig-Halle location as a European distribution hub, the cooperation network has recently opened a lobbying office in Moscow. With the opening of a branch office in Shanghai the network will soon establish itself in an economic metropolis of increasing global importance. The local contact partners will inform companies about the respective potentials of the region, thereby attracting an increasing flow of specific commodities to Central Germany for European markets.
